Greed (1924)
We watched this one in the film class I took during freshman year at BYU. Some of the film has been lost, but it’s still a good example of trying to tell a seriously dramatic story in a silent film without being a melodrama. It’s sometimes hard to get through, especially since you can’t see the whole thing, but it’s still an important piece of film history.
